The Bible warns that in the last days, many people will maintain an outward appearance of religion while denying the power of godliness. They may attend church regularly, pray publicly, preach, and participate in religious activities, yet their lives remain unchanged by the truth they profess. True Christianity is not merely about religious appearances, titles, or activities. It is a life transformed by the grace and power of God, producing holiness, obedience, humility, and godly character. A person may appear spiritual before others while secretly living in disobedience to God. Jesus warned that not everyone who calls Him Lord will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but those who do the will of His Father. As we prepare for Christ’s return, we must examine ourselves sincerely. Let us not be satisfied with the appearance of godliness while lacking its transforming power. Scriptural Readings for the Day 2 Timothy 3:1, 2, 5 (KJV) 1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves,… 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. Titus 1:16 (KJV) “They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.” Prayer Heavenly Father, deliver me from hypocrisy and empty religion. Transform my heart and help me to demonstrate genuine godliness through holiness, obedience, and righteous living. May my life agree with the faith I profess, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
