The world is filled with wars, disasters, uncertainty, and fear, but Jesus commanded His followers not to allow these things to destroy their peace. Our confidence is not in the stability of this world but in the promises of Christ. He has gone to prepare a place for His people and has promised to come again. Therefore, let us trust Him even when the future appears uncertain. He is with us through the Holy Spirit. He is able to see us through our journey on Earth.

In this Bible study, we examine how false teachings have contributed to the acceptance of worldly, indecent, and sensual dressing in the church. We look at Matthew 24:12, 2 Timothy 4:3-4, 2 Peter 2:1-2, Exodus 28:42, and Exodus 20:26, and consider what Scripture teaches about holiness, modesty, and our responsibility as a royal priesthood whose bodies are the temple of the Holy Ghost. May this study help us reject lawlessness, hold firmly to sound doctrine, and live in holiness before God.

INTRODUCTION
The Bible warns that in the last days, “iniquity shall abound” and the love of many shall grow cold (Matthew 24:12). This increasing lawlessness is not only seen in the world; it has also entered the professing church. One visible manifestation is the acceptance of worldly, indecent, and sensual dressing among people who profess to follow Christ. What was once considered shameful is now being defended and accepted in many churches.
False teachers and preachers have contributed greatly to this condition by promoting teachings that remove the fear of God and weaken the call to holiness. Instead of correcting sinful lifestyles, many have become men-pleasers who tell people what they want to hear. Scripture says that the time will come when people “will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears” (2 Timothy 4:3). Because many people desire teachers who will approve their worldly desires, false teachers readily make themselves available to satisfy them.
We must also remember that believers are now “a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation” (1 Peter 2:9), and Christ has made us “kings and priests unto God” (Revelation 1:6). Under the Old Testament, God commanded the priests to wear linen breeches “to cover their nakedness” when ministering before Him (Exodus 28:42). He also commanded that their nakedness should not be exposed at His altar (Exodus 20:26). If God required His priests to cover their nakedness when approaching a physical sanctuary, how much more should we, as His royal priesthood, honour Him with our bodies? Our bodies are now “the temple of the Holy Ghost” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Therefore, exposing the body through half-naked or sensual dressing, especially when gathering with the saints for worship, is contrary to the holiness expected of those who belong to God. We must not treat the body that belongs to God as though it were the body of a harlot, but should present ourselves in modesty, purity, and holiness.
The problem becomes even more serious when sensual dressing and other forms of worldliness are no longer corrected from the pulpit but are defended by those who claim to represent Christ. Such compromise gives people confidence to continue in practices that Scripture condemns. It also allows seduction and temptation to become normal in places that should be dedicated to the worship of God.
The result is exactly what Scripture warned would happen: “the way of truth shall be evil spoken of” (2 Peter 2:2). When the church embraces the values of the world, unbelievers may mock Christianity and question the power of the Gospel to transform lives. Kingdom citizens must therefore reject lawlessness, test every teaching by the Word of God, and hold firmly to sound doctrine and biblical holiness.

CONCLUSION
The rise of worldly and sensual dressing in the church is part of a wider problem of lawlessness and departure from sound doctrine. False teachers have encouraged this condition by pleasing people instead of correcting them with God’s Word. At the same time, believers with itching ears continue to seek teachers who will approve their desires.
Kingdom citizens must not follow the crowd. We must hold firmly to God’s Word, reject lawlessness, and pursue holiness in every area of life. Ministers must faithfully correct error, and believers must be willing to receive sound doctrine, even when it challenges their desires.

As Jesus said, “For a good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit” (Matthew 7:17, KJV). Therefore, let our hearts and our outward lives both reflect Christ.
