This is a call on every soldier of Jesus Christ to be on the watch because the days are evil. This is not the time to pursue the good things of life at the expense of being watchful. We must be on our guard against the wiles of the wicked and all the forces of evil.
In our Christian journey trials are very important to our growth and bringing the best out of our lives. Although Satan, most times, brings temptations our way to pull us down or destroy us but God turns them into stepping stones that usher us into the next level.
Despite the fact that we are a royal priesthood and a holy nation we should also remember that we are soldiers of Jesus Christ. One of the criteria of choosing a king in Israel in those days was that he should be a warrior that could take the people to war. Let’s know that we are soldiers of Jesus Christ also therefore we should be ready to fight the good fight of faith.
The Christian race is not a hinge-free profession. There are lots of trials and sufferings that inherent the narrow path. The Bible makes it very clear: “For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake” (Philippians 1:29)
“Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.” (James 1:27 KJV)
