What is the Kingdom of God worth to you? Would you be willing to give up everything rather than lose your salvation and your place in God’s Kingdom? In Matthew 13:44–46, Jesus Christ tells two powerful parables: The Parable of the Hidden Treasure and The Parable of the Pearl of Great Price. Though these parables are short, they reveal a profound truth about the incomparable value of the Kingdom of Heaven. The man who discovered the hidden treasure recognized its value and joyfully sold everything he had to obtain the field. Likewise, the merchant searching for beautiful pearls found one pearl of great price and sold everything he possessed to obtain it. Both men understood what they had found—and they were intentional about possessing it. In this powerful Bible teaching, we examine what these parables mean for Christians today. The message challenges us to consider how seriously we value our salvation, faith in Jesus Christ, and the Kingdom of God. Have you invested your time, talents, resources, and life in God’s Kingdom?
