Jesus gave a solemn warning that we must strive to enter through the narrow gate. This reminds us that salvation and eternal life must never be treated casually. Although salvation is God’s gift of grace, genuine faith calls us to repentance, obedience, perseverance, and wholehearted devotion to Christ. Many people are comfortable with religious activities but unwilling to surrender their lives completely to God. Others continually postpone repentance, assuming they will always have another opportunity to make things right. However, the door of opportunity will not remain open forever. The Christian journey requires spiritual diligence. We must resist sin, overcome temptation, and continue steadfastly in faith. As we await the coming of Jesus Christ, let us examine our lives and make our calling and election sure. Do not allow carelessness, compromise, or delayed obedience to rob you of eternal life. Scriptural Readings for the Day Luke 13:24 (KJV) “Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.” Philippians 2:12 (KJV) “Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” Prayer Heavenly Father, deliver me from spiritual carelessness and complacency. Give me the grace to pursue holiness, resist temptation, and remain steadfast in faith. Help me to finish my Christian journey faithfully, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
