God is patient, but His patience will not last forever. The call to repentance is urgent because nobody knows when Christ will return or when life will end. Love for the world can take our hearts away from God. Many people are so attached to earthly things that they have little desire for heaven. Spiritual sleep makes people insensitive to God’s warnings. Many Christians have become comfortable and careless. The Lord calls His people to wake up, be alert, and walk in holiness.
