The Bible warns that the day of the Lord will come with great judgment upon sin and rebellion. While the world may continue in its normal activities, God’s appointed day will come suddenly. Those who belong to Christ should remain watchful and live holy lives as they await His coming. Let us never mistake God’s patience for the cancellation of His judgment. Scriptural Readings for the Day 1 Thessalonians 5:2-3 (KJV) 2 “For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. 3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.” 2 Peter 3:10 (KJV) “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.” Revelation 6:15-17 KJV 15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? Prayer Almighty God, help me to live prepared for the day of Your judgment. Keep me faithful, watchful, and holy as I await the return of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Death is not the end of existence. The Bible teaches that every person will face God after this life and that there will be a resurrection and judgment. This should cause us to examine our lives and make our peace with God through Jesus Christ. Let us never live as though this present life is all that matters. Scriptural Readings for the Day Hebrews 9:27 (KJV) “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” Prayer Lord Jesus, help me to live with eternity constantly before me. Prepare my heart for that day when I shall stand before You, and keep me faithful until the end. Amen.
Hell is a serious biblical reality that Jesus Himself warned about repeatedly. It is a place of judgment prepared for the devil and his angels, and those who reject God’s salvation will face eternal punishment. The reality of hell should move us to take sin seriously, flee from unrighteousness, and receive God’s salvation through Jesus Christ. We must also urgently warn others while there is still time. Scriptural Readings for the Day Matthew 10:28 (KJV) “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Revelation 21:8 (KJV) “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Prayer Merciful Father, help me to take eternity seriously and to live in reverence before You. Give me grace to remain faithful to Christ and courage to warn others about the reality of eternal judgment. Amen.
The Great White Throne Judgment will be the final judgment of those who rejected God’s salvation. It will be a day of perfect justice when every unbeliever will stand before God. Today is the day of salvation, for God’s invitation of grace is still open. Let us receive Christ and faithfully proclaim the Gospel to others. Scriptural Readings for the Day Revelation 20:11-12 (KJV) 11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. Prayer Merciful Father, thank You for providing salvation through Your Son. Help me to remain faithful and to share the Gospel while there is still time. Amen.
The Bible reveals that a day is coming when the books will be opened before God’s throne. Nothing hidden from God will remain concealed, and every person will be judged according to His perfect righteousness. Therefore, we should live honestly, repent of our sins, and trust completely in Jesus Christ. Blessed are those whose names are written in the Book of Life. Scriptural Readings for the Day Revelation 20:12 (KJV) “And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.” Daniel 7:10 (KJV) A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened. Prayer Father, thank You for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Keep my heart faithful, and help me to live in a way that honors You every day. Amen.
