If salvation is by grace alone through faith, why do some preaches say that there are some works we need to do after getting saved? If salvation is free should there be any thing that we are expected to do after we have been born again of God?
Jesus Christ did not say that everyone that professes to be His follower will make it to Heaven, but only those who believe in him, born again, receive the Holy Spirit and continue to obey the commandments of God and remain faithful unto death or until His return. That means there are qualifications one must possess before they can be raptured.
God’s relationship with the Israelites reveals to us how God uses enemies to discipline His children. His purpose is to make His children run back to Him for reconciliation and deliverance.
The love of Jesus Christ for the Church makes Him to correct believers whenever they are going astray. Those He loves He rebukes and chastens (Revelation 3:19). We are not to get discouraged when the Lord rebukes us, rather we should take it seriously and be happy because a child that is never disciplined is not a legitimate child.
God is merciful and gracious. His goodness cannot permit Him to leave us alone, even when we go astray, He searches for us. God’s mercy is one of the ways God expresses His love toward us. We, therefore, must not take His mercy for granted.
When we preach to sinners what do we tell them? “Jesus loves you, repent of your sins”. This is the Gospel and I guess this is the message you preach to sinners. When you tell sinners “Jesus loves you” what you are saying is that “Jesus Christ loves you but He hates sin, therefore, repent so that you will not be condemned because of your sins.” God reaches out to sinners because He loves them. He is angry with sinners because they reject the truth but anger is not hatred. God hates sin not the sinner. Jesus Christ loves sinners and He goes to any length to save them. If sinners refuse to repent God’s justice will pay them for their evil deeds, which is eternal destruction in Hell Fire. It is not “God’s hatred” that sends sinners to Hell Fire, but it is their rejection of the truth. Read John 3:18. God doesn’t hate His Children because of their sins. He hates sin but loves sinners. He keeps calling them for repentance till death.
