The promise of Christ’s return and the resurrection of believers should bring comfort to God’s people. We may experience sorrow, separation, persecution, and suffering in this life, but these things are not the end. There is coming a day when Christ will gather His people to Himself and we will be with Him forever. Therefore, encourage one another with the hope of His coming. Scriptural Readings for the Day 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 (KJV) “16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” John 14:3 (KJV) “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11 (KJV) “Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.” Prayer Lord Jesus, thank You for the promise that we shall one day be with You forever. Help me to encourage others with this blessed hope and remain faithful until Your coming. Amen.
