When Jesus spoke about troubling events that would come upon the earth, He did not tell His followers to live in fear. Instead, He told them to look up because their redemption was drawing near. The increasing darkness of the world should remind believers that God’s promises are moving toward fulfilment. Rather than becoming discouraged, we must lift our eyes toward Christ and remain faithful. Scriptural Readings for the Day Luke 21:28 (KJV) “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” Romans 8:23 (KJV) “And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.” Prayer Lord Jesus, help me to look up with hope as I see the signs of the times. Keep my heart free from fear and help me to remain faithful as I wait for Your appearing. Amen.
