The apostles repeatedly warned that false teachers would arise from within and outside the Church to distort the truth of God’s Word. Therefore, every believer must study the Scriptures diligently and remain under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Sound doctrine not only protects us from error but also helps us grow into spiritual maturity and become effective witnesses for Christ. As the return of Jesus draws near, let us continue to stand firmly upon the unchanging truth of God’s Word. Scriptural Readings for the Day Acts 20:28-30 (KJV) 28 “Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.” 29 “For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.” 30 “Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.” Colossians 2:6-8 (KJV) 6 “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:” 7 “Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.” 8 “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” Prayer Heavenly Father, root me deeply in Your Word and establish me in the truth of the Gospel. Give me discernment to recognize error, courage to stand for biblical doctrine, and grace to teach Your truth faithfully until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
